Shortly after administering the treatment, however, the family from Allen, Texas said that their daughter began exhibiting alarming side effects, including hallucinations and and an attempt, they believe, to hurt herself. (more…)
A NEW virus that infects the victims’ machine and uses it to mine cryptocurrency is spreading across Facebook Messenger, security researchers have cautioned.

Facebook users’ machines could be taken over and used to mine cryptocurrency, like Bitcoin and Litcoin, security experts have warned.
The new malware – dubbed Digmine – affects desktop versions of Facebook Messenger when running inside the Google Chrome web browser, Trend Micro researchers have claimed.
Digmine works by hijacking the processing power in a desktop computer and using it to generate coins and confirm digital transactions.
This process is known as mining.
According to a blog post by Trend Micro researchers, “If the user’s Facebook account is set to log in automatically, Digmine will manipulate Facebook Messenger in order to send a link to the file to the account’s friends.”
This ensures the virus quickly spreads across Facebook and captures more processing power for mining.
Since mining Bitcoin requires a lot of processing power, it has become increasingly (more…)
Police and private companies have taken down a massive botnet used to move malware onto compromised PCs.
The Andromeda botnet, also known as Gamarue, is thought to have spanned over two million PCs and distributed over 80 types of malware onto infected PCs. It was shut down on November 29 in a combined operation by Europol, the FBI, security vendor ESET and Microsoft.
A suspect thought to be associated with the botnet was arrested in Belarus.
It was announced by The Peace Corps on Wednesday that the 340 volunteers of the organization who are stationed in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia, are being recalled after two of them contracted the virus.
The two workers got infected after they came in close contact with a patient infected with the deadly virus. The spokeswoman confirmed that though the two people are not showing any symptoms, they will be isolated after being flown back to the United States. They are in isolation even now and will stay like that till doctors declare them infection free. There was no information as to when additionalpersonnel will go back to the affectedWest African nations.
The statement said that “The agency has been and will continue to closely monitor the outbreak of the virus in collaboration with leading experts from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the U.S. Department of State.” The fear is spreading globally with Hong Kong and United Kingdom havingstarted testing passengers of two airlines for symptoms.

After nearly a year of causing hysteria, mass travel cancellations and unnecessary abortions it finally daunts to “journalists” and “experts” that the Zika virus is harmless. It can cause a very minor flue – two days of a low fever and uncomfortable feeling for a quarter of those infected – that is all. It does not cause, as was claimed by sensationalists in the media and various self-serving “scientists”, birth defects like microcephaly.
We told you so.
Everything we know about Zika fever may change due to a discovery from the University of California, San Diego’s School of Medicine. The disease only recently became public knowledge and has been the subject of a significant amount of scientific study.
One alarming aspect of the Zika virus is the insidious way it can damage neurological and immunological functions and also cause developmental defects in newborn infants, such as microcephaly. But a recent study from UC San Diego could help scientists develop drugs to lower the risk of birth defects in pregnant women who become infected.
Researchers found that the disease actually changes a part of human genetic material to “hide in plain sight,” Tariq Rana, the lead author of the study and a professor of pediatrics at UC San Diego, told USA Today. In a study published in the journal Cell host & Microbe, Rana and her fellow researchers explain that Zika may cause birth defects when it enters a human cell.

Be afraid! Zika virus expected to be on the rampage in Puerto Rico, says some random, unnamed ‘health expert’
A health expert has warned he expects one in four people in the US territory of Puerto Rico to be infected with the Zika virus before the year’s end. The Caribbean island has reported 1,914 new cases of the disease in the last week, and there are said to be 10,690 cases there altogether.
The island’s Health Secretary Ana Rius has said that of the total cases 1,035 involve pregnant women. The virus is thought to cause serious birth defects including ‘shrunken heads’ in babies.Officials say 90 people in Puerto Rico have been hospitalised by the virus.
Roughly 30 of them are said to have been diagnosed with the temporary paralysis condition Guillain-Barre which is linked to the condition. Brazil has been worst affected by the outbreak which has swept across the Latin America. The spread of the virus prompted some athletes and golfer Rory McIlroy to pull out of the Rio Olympics.
It is feared the UK could be hit by Zika when Brits travelling to see the games return home. 50 people in Britain have already tested positive for Zika after returning to our shores from abroad.
