Former CIA analyst Fred Fleitz drops some new inside knowledge…
(ANTIMEDIA Op-ed) — Before the New Year, Anti-Media reported that the Trump administration was weighing a limited tactical strike on North Korea similar to that of the U.S. military’s April strike against the Syrian government.
However, not everyone in the Trump administration is particularly happy about the strike proposal, according to Business Insider. From the outlet’s recent report:
“Both The Telegraph and The Wall Street Journal have portrayed Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Secretary of Defense James Mattis as trying to caution President Donald Trump against a strike, and the national security adviser, H.R. McMaster, as advocating it.”
As Business Insider notes, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson appeared to change the Trump administration’s stance on North Korea in mid-December, stating that the U.S. was “ready to talk anytime. North Korea would like to talk, and we’re ready to have the first meeting without precondition.”
On the face of it, this would undoubtedly be (more…)
After it emerged on Saturday that Trump had tipped Exxon CEO Rex Tillerson for the role of America’s top diplomat, Trump was quick to shower the 64-year-old CEO with praise. In an interview with Fox News, Trump praised Mr. Tillerson, saying: “He’s a world-class player. He’s in charge of an oil company that’s pretty much double the size of its next nearest competitor.” Trump added that Tillerson knows many of the players and he knows them well. He does massive deals in Russia.”
On the other hand, as we cautioned, Tillerson’s background of close proximity to Russia, and bogeyman du jour Vladimir Putin, would likely present a challenge to his confirmation. Recall that as Exxon CEO Tillerson struck a deal in 2011 giving Exxon access to prized Arctic resources in Russia as well as allowing Russia’s state oil company, OAO Rosneft, to invest in Exxon concessions all over the world. The following year, the Kremlin bestowed the country’s Order of Friendship decoration on Tillerson.
As the WSJ reported, “the deal would have been transformative for Exxon.” Putin at the time called it one of the most important involving (more…)
Washington Post presstitute expresses horror at idea of pro-Putin Tillerson being Trump’s Secretary of State
If ever there was evidence that the media and the incoming Trump team inhabit alternate universes, it would be Jennifer Rubin’s Wednesday article expressing mystification and horror at the idea of Rex Tillerson becoming Secretary of State.
To get a sense of what this Rubin creature is like, we advise watching ‘Can’t Cuck the Tuck’ Tucker Carlson take her apart yesterday on his show on Fox, which is becoming something of boxing ring, with Carlson thus far victorious, sending his opponents off badly bloodied.
In this highly entertaining episode, he demonstrates very convincingly that she states rather serious ‘facts’ without providing any evidence, otherwise known as ‘making things up’.
Rubin is just a product of the completely out-of-touch Washington media world, a relatively minor cog, a little drummer girl marching to the neocon tune which emits daily from Mr. Bezos’ awful and widely detested publication. In the article she names the preposterous John Bolton or Mitt Romney as great possible choices. Then she whines about Mike Flynn’s ‘Russia-toadying.’
In a move that is certain to infuriate those who see Trump as nothing more than a puppet of the Kremlin, moments ago NBC reported that Rex Tillerson, CEO of Exxon Mobil and late entrant into the SecState race after his first meeting with the president elect this past Tuesday at the Trump Tower, has been picked by Trump to serve as his next Secretary of State.
