Political uncertainty in both countries has led to an exodus of investors who are seeking to satisfy their cravings for stability elsewhere.
The two-week sell-off has plunged cash-strapped Italy even further into the red and there are now real fears of a Greek-style financial crisis which would bring the country to its knees.

Seismic unrest is being reported since last Saturday, February 10, 2018 with a new earthquake swarm starting in the southeast of the island of La Palma in Spain. Now, on February 12, 2018 more than 300 small earthquakes have rattled the mid-Atlantic Azores Islands overnight.

A huge fireball hurled across the night sky in Spain at an approximate speed of 72,000 kilometers per hour. It was visible in all parts of the country and is believed to be a piece of an asteroid.
The fireball was first spotted by Spanish scientists at 22:25 local time on Sunday as it passed over the southern regions of Andalucia, Granada and Jaen.
The object was described as a part of an asteroid to El Pais by Jose Maria Madiedo, an astrophysicist of the University of Huelva.
It was “considerable in size” so that “it could survive its passage through the Earth’s atmosphere,” Madiedo told Europa Press.
Spain is facing international criticism as it reportedly prepares to refuel a flotilla of Russian warships en route to bolstering the bombing campaign against the besieged Syrian city of Aleppo. El País reported that the Spanish ministry of foreign affairs was reviewing the permit issued to the Russian flotilla to stop at Ceuta. Politicians and military figures condemned the support from a NATO member as “scandalous,” and “wholly inappropriate,” while the head of the alliance indicated Madrid should rethink the pit stop.
SPAIN has been warned by Brussels it could be refused a huge amount of financial support if it fails to get its budget deficit under control. This bolide was observed over the South of Spain on 30 Aug. 2016, at 01:57 UT (03:57 local time). The meteoroid impacted the atmosphere at about 130.000 km/h and produced a fireball that began at a height of 97 km over the Mediterranean Sea. The event ended at an altitude of about 37 km over Andalusia (Spain).
