North Korea has warned the peninsula is heading towards ‘nuclear war’ with the USA
North Korea said Donald Trump wanted war and warned the USA would face a “terrible disaster” unless they backed off.
They said America is preparing for war after the Winter Olympics in “late March or early April” and urged Washington to take the sensible option.
The threats were issued in the Pyongyang Times, a propaganda newspaper based in the capital of Kim Jong-un’s hermit state.
The paper, which is essentially a mouthpiece for the rogue state, published an opinion piece condemning Donald Trump’s threat’s of a “bloody nose” strike on North Korea.
Mr Trump has repeatedly threatened to attack North Korea and deliver “fire and fury” if Kim threatened the US or its allies.
And last month rumours began spreading (more…)

The US, which has been threatened with mainland nuclear strikes, is preparing to pump cash into the Pentagon after the military requested a major boost for spending.
Congress will be asked to approve a budget of £489billion ($686bn) – one of the largest in US history – just days after North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un declared he could bring a nuclear holocaust to Donald Trump’s “empire of evil”.
Security sources are gathering and experts called out of retirement, it is claimed, as the threat from the Korean peninsular ramps up.
In recent months analysts with Korean-language skills are being sought globally with military intelligence analysts on reserve status being called back into service to focus on North Korea. Cyber warfare experts have suggested US officials are scrambling to recruit the best in hacking and virtual war since they fear (more…)
NORTH Korean athletes face hellish gulags if they use the Winter Olympics as a chance to defect to the South, an expert has warned.

The Pyeongchang Games kicked off on Friday in a lavish opening ceremony, with 22 athletes from the communist state set to compete.
Sportsmen and women from the North and South even marched under a “unified” flag, despite leader Kim Jong-un riling rival leaders with a string of ICBM strikes.
But there is still a possibility athletes may use the Games to permanently escape the regime, an expert warns, and the consequences of an unsuccessful attempt are truly terrifying.
Under extreme circumstances, an athlete defecting could be thrown into a camp and subject to vicious hard labour.
And even if the punishment is less severe, athletes and their families still face punishment by having their livelihood dragged through the mud.
Expert in Asian security, Chris Ogden, told Daily Star Online: “It could be severe punishment for defecting.
“It would depend on the situation I think, but certainly the leaders would not be (more…)

A relaxation of tensions on the Korean Peninsula due to the Pyeongchang Games renewed hopes for a diplomatic solution to the crisis and escalating war of worlds between Pyongyang and the US.
But Robert A. Manning, resident senior fellow at the Atlantic Council, believes this is just a temporary thaw.
He said: “Unfortunately, after the Olympics and Paralympics are over in late March, Pyongyang is likely to test another intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) and in April and the US and South Korea will conduct scheduled military exercises necessary for the vitality of the US-South Korea alliance.
“And we will be back in crisis mode.”
The expert is concerned the US President would retaliate to try and “teach Kim a lesson”, and act upon his fiery rhetoric.

(ANTIMEDIA) East Asia — With the mainstream media contemplating the significance of Kim Jong-un sending his sister to the Olympic Games in South Korea, as well as any messages found within the North’s military parade on Thursday, the larger question still looms: Will the current thaw in relations between the United States and North Korea last beyond the games in Pyeongchang? On Thursday, […]Source: US Military Readies ‘Father of All Bombs’ for Use on North Korean Nuclear Facilities

Reports suggest that US advisors are discussing the idea of crushing the hermit kingdom with a devastating display of military might.
Critics believe the discussions may have been leaked by those who wish to halt the first strike option.
Victor Cha, a professor at Georgetown University in Washington DC and a senior advisor at the Centre for Strategic and International Studies, painted a horrifying image of what the world would be like if Kim Jong-un is “not stopped”.
However, the expert was completely opposed to initiating a “preventative strike” on the isolationist state.
He explained: “The United States must continue to prepare military options. Force will be necessary to deal with North Korea if it attacks first, but not through a preventive strike that could start a nuclear war.
“North Korea, if not stopped, will build an arsenal with multiple (more…)
