A nuclear-armed North Korea is a danger to the U.S. as well as the rest of the world. Because there are so few foreign policy options to correct the situation, the U.S. and other world powers have been relying on financial and economic sanctions to bring the Kim regime back into denuclearization discussions. In addition, world governments have put sanctions in place to punish the nation for human rights violations, cyber-attacks, and money laundering.
Right now, across Africa, the U.S. military is providing massive amounts of military technology, hardware, training and expertise to local African militaries and police forces.
According to the Alliance of World Scientists, a group comprised of over 15,000 scientists from over 184 countries, humans need to change their individual consumption and behavior… soon.
Among encouraging people to lower their use of fossil fuels and reduce their reproduction rates — because, [according to them], the Earth can’t sustain all of us — they urged folks to, essentially, go vegan.
They (eerily) issued a similar warning 25 years ago, talking about how rapid consumption and reproduction, as individual behaviors, could lead to ocean dead zones, ozone depletion, forest cover loss, decline in marine life, and loss of biodiversity.
While the warnings are the same, the warning this time around is a bit more severe, as the environmental impacts have gotten significantly worse. The group’s statement is clear.

European cities could be flung into the firing line of Iran’s fury as tensions in the Middle East reach breaking point, Daily Star Online can reveal.
Saudi Arabia sent a chilling warning to Iran this week, saying “we will not stand by idly” after Tehran was accused of committing an “act of war”.
Iranian rebels allegedly fired a missile at the Kingdom’s capital Riyadh, sending tensions boiling over to new heights.
And today Iran issued a chilling threat to Europe.
But with a deadly arsenal of nuclear-capable missiles at its disposal, Iran poses a real, huge danger to Europe – let alone the Middle East.
Should a new world war be declared, Iran could – with its medium-range ballistic missiles – obliterate any capital city within 2,000km.
But its biggest and most terrifying is a cruise missile called Soumar – with a reach of a terrifying 3,000km.

US President Donald Trump has candidly revealed his ignorance of geography and international politics, saying he never knew there were “so many countries” until he was elected president. Trump dropped the clangor while delivering a speech to Japanese dignitaries on the first leg of his Asian tour on Monday, admitting that he had been unaware […]Source: I never knew there were so many countries
When Spanish business consultant Alejandro Macarrón started crunching the numbers behind Spain’s changing demographics, he couldn’t believe what he was seeing. “I was astonished,” said Macarrón. “We have provinces in Spain where for every baby born, more than two people die. And the ratio is moving closer to one to three.”
Spain has one of the lowest fertility rates in the EU, with an average of 1.27 children born for every woman of childbearing age, compared to the EU average of 1.55. Its crippling economic crisis has seen a net exodus of people from the country, as hundreds of thousands of Spaniards and migrants leave in the hope of finding jobs abroad. The result is that, since 2012, Spain’s population has been shrinking.
Record numbers of economic migrants and asylum-seekers are seeking to enter the European Union this summer and are risking their lives in the attempt. The paradox is that as police and security forces battle to keep them at bay, a demographic crisis is unfolding across the continent. Europe desperately needs more young people to run its health services, (more…)

DHS Admits “Mistakenly” Granting Citizenship To 858 Immigrants From “Countries Of Concern To National Security”
The U.S. government has mistakenly granted citizenship to at least 858 immigrants from countries of concern to national security or with high rates of immigration fraud who had pending deportation orders, according to an internal Homeland Security audit released Monday. The Homeland Security Department’s inspector general found that the immigrants used different names or birthdates to apply for citizenship with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and such discrepancies weren’t caught because their fingerprints were missing from government databases.
