Neocon Puppet Trump says total termination of Iran nuclear deal is a ‘very real possibility’

US President Donald Trump said that a total termination of the Iran nuclear deal is a very real possibility. Meanwhile, Tehran has said it detailed a plan of action in case Washington backs out of the deal.

“We’ll see what phase two is,” Trump said on Monday in a cabinet meeting while talking about the Iran nuclear agreement. “It might be a total termination. That’s a very real possibility.”

“I’m tired of being taken advantage of as a nation,” Trump said, calling Iranian leaders “great negotiators” who “negotiated a great deal for themselves, but a horrible deal for the US.”

Greece’s former finance minister on talking politics with his 12-year-old daughter, Europe’s capitalist crisis, and his fears for Wikileaks founder Julian Assange

The economist Yanis Varoufakis was the finance minister in Greece for six tumultuous months in 2015, before resigning from the Syriza government. Last year he launched the Democracy in Europe Movement 2025 (DiEM25). He is also the author of several books. His latest is Talking to My Daughter About the Economy.

Your new book, explaining the history and iniquity of capitalism, is addressed to your 12-year-old daughter, Xenia. What did she think of it?

My daughter is my worst critic, so even if she likes something I do or write she is very averse to complimenting me. In this context her words of encouragement were the best I could have hoped for. Something like: “Not too bad.”

Scientists witness of gravitational waves and light from colliding of two neutron stars

The team of scientists from the LIGO and Virgo observatories have confirmed they witnessed both gravitational waves and light coming from the collision of two neutron stars, definitively proving Einstein’s General Theory of Relativity.

Hundreds of scientists from 70 observatories on all seven continents – as well as an additional seven space-based laboratories – combined their resources and expertise to analyze the signal detected on August 17 this year.

“As these neutron stars spiraled together, they emitted gravitational waves that were detectable for about 100 seconds; when they collided, a flash of light in the form of gamma rays was emitted and seen on Earth about two seconds after the gravitational waves,” the researchers wrote in a press release.

The scientific community, using some of the most sensitive machines ever built by humankind, managed to determine that the two dense, dead stars were 200 miles apart before they merged just 100 seconds later, producing ripples in the fabric of space time.

“It is tremendously exciting to experience a rare event that transforms our understanding of the workings of the universe,”says France A. Córdova, director of the National Science Foundation (NSF), which funds LIGO.

Wellbeing enhanced more by places than objects

Research using brain scans finds people experience feelings of contentment from places more than from objects such as photographs or wedding rings

The poet W.H. Auden is credited with first coining the word “topophilia” to describe a strong emotional pull to a special place.

Now scientific research, using cutting-edge brain imaging, suggests Auden was on to something. According to a study commissioned by the National Trust, people experience intense feelings of wellbeing, contentment and belonging from places that evoke positive memories far more than treasured objects such as photographs or wedding rings.

Big Pharma price gouging: Why does the drug to fight opioid addiction cost $500 a month?

The September issue of Harper’s features juror excuses for why they were unfit to serve on the Martin Shkreli case. One called him the “most hated man in America,” for good reason: in 2015 his company, Turing Pharmaceuticals, raised the price of Daraprim by 5,000 percent. Over 200 potential jurors were excused. The responses were telling.  Who does that, puts profit and self-interest ahead of anything else? I’m aware of the defendant and I hate him. My kids use those drugs. You’d have to convince me he was innocent rather than guilty.  I think somebody that’s dealt in those things deserves to go to jail.
