Freak hailstorm buries cars in one meter of hail and turns beach white in Mercin, Turkey

This is not snow. It is hail! And, on Nov 19th, the hailstorm was so severe that it buried cars in one meter of hail stones. Some parts of the city of Mersin were literally blocked by enormous hail accumulation that just a snow dumper could move away. The severe hailstorm was accompanied by strong […]

Utopian Fantasies vs. A Better World: What Happened to the Republic? Democracy Happened

“When you come to the subject of who should ‘fix things,’ the government or private individuals, you could throw up your hands and confess that neither choice works, in which case you’re left with a terminal disease, and a fine excuse for doing nothing; or you could refer back to the principles of the Republic, and understand why the Founders put chains on government, and you might a find a clue for navigating out of the maze.(The Underground, Jon Rappoport)

This piece is for anyone who can understand it—but it’s also for THE ENTREPRENEUR, who in his soul wants to do something large and bright and radical and successful, to turn the tide of human affairs in an enormously good direction and, yes, still make a substantial profit.

And no, “the universe doesn’t rule out those two motives existing side by side.

The United States was created as a Republic.

That meant severely limited central government.

Why?

[VIDEO] UFO Spotted From The International Space Station

ufoiss

What some believe to be a UFO was spotted by an Italian astronaut from the International Space Station. While many say the video is nothing more than space debris falling to Earth as a meteor, several others are unconvinced after watching the same video.

The object can be seen entering Earth’s atmosphere at an alarming speed. Although the footage of the most recent sighting came from NASA, conspiracy theorists are suspicious over how quickly the space agency released the video and an explanation it to the media.

What many people may not realize, according to SecureTeam10, is that this video is a timelapse. “You’re seeing the earth spinning at a high rate of speed and we see this flash of light coming from space. It does look to be moving at 85mph (136 km/ph). But when you account how fast the earth would have actually been moving, had this not been sped up, it would have been moving much, much slower, says the narrator of the video.

To back up his claims, the narrator of Secure Team 10 video compares this “meteorâ€ (more…)

Since 1997, 264 Cases Of Sexual Harassment In Congress Have Been Settled For A Total Of $17,250,854

We finally have the official numbers, and they aren’t pretty. Reid Wilson, a correspondent for the Hill, has posted to Twitter a year by year breakdown of sexual harassment settlements and awards that he received from the Congressional Office of Compliance. I went ahead and added up each column, and what I discovered is that 264 cases of sexual harassment in Congress have been settled since 1997, and the total amount awarded in those settlements comes to a grand total of $17,250,854.

So where has the $17,250,854 come from to pay those settlements?

That money has come from the taxpayers of course. That means that you and I have been paying to cover up the epidemic of sexual harassment that has been taking place on Capitol Hill.

When U.S. Representative Jackie Speier originally told us that more than 15 million dollars had been paid out to victims of sexual harassment in recent years, I was envisioning a few dozen cases at most.

I had no idea that the total number of cases would actually be well over 200.

25 Most Shocking Medical Mistakes, and How You Can Protect Yourself

Hospitals are typically thought of as places where lives are saved, but statistics show they’re actually one of the most dangerous places you could possibly enter. Each day, more than 40,000 harmful and/or lethal medical errors occur, placing the patient in a worse situation than what they came in with.

According to a 2013 study, preventable medical errors kill around 440,000 patients each year — more than 10 times the number of deaths caused by motor vehicle crashes. A 2016 study  calculated the annual death toll to be around 250,000.

The 5 Best Tactical Shotguns For Home Defense

The 5 Best Tactical Shotguns For Home Defense

The Very Best Tactical Shotguns For Home Defense

I love my guns, but at the end of the day, there are very few that really matter to me. The AR-15s, AK-47s, and other “fun guns” are great, but don’t serve much of a purpose to me. However, if you want to talk about a weapon that does serve an essential purpose to me, it would be my home defense shotgun.

I have owned and tried more tactical-style shotguns than I can remember. This is one firearm that I don’t mind spending extra money on, or doing a ton of testing until I find the perfect one.

In my opinion, a shotgun is absolutely necessary for home defense. However, in order to be a viable option for home defense, I think a few criteria must be met.

First and foremost, the shotgun must be reliable. In a home defense situation, being able to count on the weapon is absolutely paramount. There is no way around that.

Second, a fast cycle rate is important to me. It gives me some peace of mind that I am able to re-engage the target if necessary. A commonly held opinion is that semiautomatic shotguns are not as reliable as pump action shotguns. In my opinion, this is both true and not true. There are more internal parts (more…)

Are you searching for new and natural ways to keep yourself and your family healthy this winter? You may want to try making your own batch of Fire Cider.

Fire Cider is a spicy hot tonic that uses medicinal herbs to help boost the body’s immune system so that it can better fight off germs and infection. This recipe was developed in the early 1980s by herbalist Rosemary Gladstar at the California School of Herbal Studies.

Gladstar is the author of 11 books, including her best-selling Medicinal Herbs, a Beginners Guide. The founder and president of United Plant Savers, Gladstar lives and works from her 500-acre preserve, Sage Mountain Herbal Retreat Center, in central Vermont.

Fire Cider is one of what Gladstar calls her “cross-over” recipes, meaning it is part medicine, part food. In a recent interview with Off The Grid Radio, Gladstar noted, “It is the dosage and the way you take it (an herb or an herb combination) that would change it from a food to a medicine.”

8 Sure-Fire Ways To Fail At Homesteading

8 Sure-Fire Ways To Fail At Homesteading

Failure is easy.  So easy, in fact, that most people who achieve it do so without ever meaning to.  But in case you need any ideas to help ensure your homesteading efforts crash and burn, here are a few tips to help keep you on the path toward epic homestead fail.

1. Be focused on life in the city. Seek frequent fulfillment at malls and gourmet restaurants and sidewalk concerts and art festivals. Prefer urban amenities to the beauty of striking sunsets and dancing kid goats. Crave the company of crowds instead of the richness of feasting upon vegetables you planted as seeds. Love the night life, and care little about the satisfaction of jobs well-done in mended fences and weeded gardens.

2. Be picky about the weather. Dislike being outdoors in anything but the perfect temperature and conditions. Expect to stay in the house unless it’s exactly the way you like it outdoors.

10 Ways My Wife And I Cut Our Grocery Bill By 75 Percent

10 Ways My Wife And I Cut Our Grocery Bill By 75 Percent

10 Ways My Wife And I Cut Our Grocery Bill By 75 Percent

My wife and I own two homes and live two lifestyles. One homesteading and one suburban. Here’s how we borrowed the best from homesteading to save money, especially on our grocery bills.

The Homesteading Life

We have a cabin in Michigan. It’s on 80 wooded acres in the Manistee National Forest on a trout stream. We heat the house with wood, hunt and fish, garden aggressively, have 50 fruit trees planted on the property, wild forage and practice a range of food preservation techniques. Our grocery food purchases are next to nothing, with the occasional purchase of coffee, flour, sugar, salt, some meats, milk and butter. I guess you could say we shop like Alaska sourdoughs putting together a grubstake.

The Suburban Life

We also have a home in the suburbs in Northern Illinois about 30 miles west of Chicago. I was an advertising consultant and my wife a nurse and soccer mom. For some reason we were walking away from the homesteading discipline when we returned to our suburban home — and the grocery bills soared. It was some time ago that I decided to do something about that and apply (more…)
